1st Place for the NJIT 4th Annual Foundation Design Competition

‘Floor 248"‘ is a short stop motion film using Lego figures and Lego bricks for the set design. The film explores how an idea first becomes popular and exciting, but then eventually becomes over saturated and is replaced by a new idea.

Official Statement by NJIT Judge:

“What humorless student did not smile while watching this video? I will be remembering this for a long time. The viral effect of change and innovation in the face of routine and complacency is wonderfully expressed by the metaphor of assembly line production.  The tight editing, fully envisioned Lego® set design, and perfectly appropriate sound track made this a top choice.”

“What Now My Love” is a stop-motion animated short about a man and his lost love.

The Claymation explores the feeling of loneliness after a breakup, and how depression leads people to isolation. The soft singing contrasted by the dramatic drums comes from the song “What Now My Love” - By The Peddlers. The abstract nature of the song blends in with the use of mixed media in order to create dream-like sequences. The short mixes 2D Animation, Stop-motion, 3D animation, and live action together. Although it crosses between different mediums, they all work in harmony to create a deep dreadful aesthetic.
